Our Mission

What is Informed Cat about?

We started this site in July of 2022. Not everything will be up and running right away. We’ll keep you posted about the progress.

It’s a place to find out stuff about your cat. Interesting stuff and good stuff. Also, bad stuff to look out for. We are curious and ask a lot of questions about cats, everywhere. We tell stories. It’s all about our cats.

How do we support this site?

We take a small commission from anything we offer for sale on the site. If you see something you would like to buy, we will link you to the place where it is offered for sale. That way we don’t have the cost of keeping our inventory. 10% of all the profits go to organizations that offer free services to cats and other domesticated animals, ones we have had experience with. We will detail the donations we have made to these organizations and tell you about them.

Cat health.

We are going to set up a space where you can find out about things relating to your cat’s health and ask questions. This will be offered through a link to Quora that you can click on. We will control what is in that space.

If someone wants to sponsor us, we will consider that, but it will be up to us to decide if their intentions fit our goals.

We ask for email addresses from our readers. Why? So we can keep in touch. You will then be a ‘subscriber.’ We won’t share your personal information with anyone or bug you with annoying emails and you can unsubscribe anytime. The number of subscribers tells us how we are doing.

Our cats are all dear to us. Ours are. It’s nice to have thoughts frequently about every cat that we have had and about all the strays and feral cats we have taken care of when we could. Cats Are part of our lives. We have never had a purebred cat that we know of, but purebred cats are OK. All of ours have been adopted in one way or another.

That’s it. There will be a lot of stuff about our resident cats, and your hosts Georges and Jolie. They have French names but don’t speak French very well, or at least they pretend not to. Cheers, and thanks.
